As a musician with a penchant for cultural exploration through food, my recent culinary journey at Tienne Del Mar was a symphony of flavors blending Cape Verdean tradition with a contemporary twist. Each morning, I delighted in a buffet breakfast featuring local delicacies, a harmonious fusion that paid homage to the region's rich culinary heritage. The breakfast playlist set the perfect ambiance, weaving together the sounds of traditional Cape Verdean music with the gentle rhythm of the ocean waves.One evening, I savored the syrupy sweetness of grogue, the national drink of Cape Verde, at the roof terrace bar while watching the sun dip below the horizon. The restaurant's menu celebrated the region of Paúl, spotlighting dishes where everybody bakes their fish on the barbecue, offering a true taste of local authenticity. Daily fresh juices from fruits grown in the garden added refreshing notes to each meal.Despite the culinary delights, breakfast lacked the finesse expected of a 4-star establishment.
